Design and Construction of Merdeka 118 Tower

Merdeka 118 is a large-scale mixed development that consist of a 118-storey mega-tall tower, three high end residential towers and more than 130 000 m2 of high-end retail space. At the heart of this prestigious development, is an iconic 118-storey diamond shape tower that is set to redefine Kuala Lumpur skyline with height of 679.9m tall to become the second tallest Tower in the world. The effective application of High-Performance Concrete up to C105 has significantly optimize the size of structural elements and improve the economics of the building by maximizing premium floor space. High Performance Concrete up to C105 has been applied to the mega column and core walls to optimize the size of the elements and improve the gravity and lateral load resisting capability of the elements. To ensure delivery of HPC to the highest standard, extensive testing program and QA/QC program has been developed. The successful development and application of HPC in Merdeka 118 Tower has push the boundary of HPC utilization in Malaysia since the Petronas Twin Tower and will serve as beacon for efficient use of HPC in future tall buildings.

For those that attended the June SalesForce Tower tour it is the location where we went for our after tour social time. This will be the last of the trial venues and promises a different experience.
The committee meeting will start at the usual time 5:00 pm in the Waterview Lounge with drinks and appetizers. At 6:00 pm we will adjourn to the LaSalle Room for our business meeting and technical presentation.
