The 2025 CCHRB Scholarship Award recipient is Ms. Jenda Simonsen. Ms. Simonsen attends the University of Nebraska – Lincoln.
Originally from Nebraska, Jenda is passionate about improving architecture across the Midwest, both in high-density cities and underserved rural communities, through research informed design at multiple scales.
One of her recent student projects includes a Chicago Timber Tower, a mass timber high-rise proposal that explores biophilic design, responsive facades, and mixed-use urban living.
She has interned with firms focused on affordable housing, Native American community projects, and adaptive reuse, and plans to pursue licensure after graduation.
